What's planned
Everything this manual marks as Planned, in one place, with where it stands.
This page is a first draft. It may change before the public beta.
These are things Arx doesn't do yet. Each one is a plan, not a promise of a date, and it may change.
For the public beta
- Splits of up to four tabs. See Split View.
- A redesigned Little Arx, which opens on top of full-screen apps. See Little Arx.
- A site menu in the address bar: share, capture, extensions, site settings and connection details.
- More settings: default browser, automatic archiving, remote search suggestions, full URL, per-site permissions, clearing browsing data, payment cards and a per-profile download folder. See Settings.
- Importing from Safari, Firefox and Zen. See Bring in from another browser.
Waiting on Apple
- Website passkeys and iCloud Passwords. Apple has to approve Arx for passkey support and add it to its list of browsers. See Extensions.
- Assistant sign-in with your password manager and passkeys, without the assistant seeing the values. See Sign-ins stay with you.
Before 1.0
- Sync through iCloud. See Sync.
- Chat in the command bar with your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription. See Chat in the command bar.
For assistants and MCP
- Starting downloads, with your approval.
- Seeking, muting and reading media playback position.
- Changing browser settings through MCP. Security and grant settings will never be writable.
- An opt-in developer tier: script evaluation, console and network logs.
- Headless runs without a logged-in graphical session.
See the tool reference and Headless runs.
