Extensions
Chrome extensions, per profile. What you can install today, and what isn't supported yet.
This page is a first draft. It may change before the public beta.
Arx runs Chrome extensions. Each extension belongs to one profile and works in all of its spaces, so a work extension never sees your personal browsing.
Manage them in Settings → Profiles → ‹profile› → Manage Extensions…
What you can do
- Enable, Disable and Remove an extension. Removing asks first.
- See its permissions, and Open Options when it has an options page.
- Install Package… installs a signed
.crxfile, and Update from Package… updates one. A review sheet shows the package's hash and permissions first. - With developer mode on, Load Unpacked… loads a folder you're working on.
Not available yet
- Installing from the Chrome Web Store.
- Native messaging, which some extensions use to talk to an app on your Mac.
- Extensions in private windows.
- Apple's iCloud Passwords extension.
Planned
iCloud Passwords and website passkeys. Both wait on Apple: Arx has to be added to Apple's list of browsers, and approved for passkey support.
