Tabs and windows
Spaces
One space for each part of your day. Each keeps its own pinned tabs and open tabs, with its own icon and appearance.
This page is a first draft. It may change before the public beta.
Work, home, a side project. Each space keeps its own pinned tabs and open tabs, so switching changes the whole sidebar at once. Favorites stay the same in every space of a profile.
Swipe across the sidebar from Work to Personal and back; the pinned and open tabs change with the space, the Favorites stay.
Switch spaces
- Swipe horizontally with two fingers over the sidebar. All your spaces sit on one track, with the Library next to the space you opened it from.
- Click a space in the switcher at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Type its name in the command bar and pick Switch to Space.
- Next Space and Previous Space have no default key; give them one in Settings → Shortcuts.
Make a space
Choose New Space from the Spaces menu, the Library's menu or the command bar. Right-click a space for:
- Change Space Icon…: any SF Symbol or emoji, from a searchable picker.
- Rename Space…
- Appearance: its own light or dark theme and film grain. See Settings.
- Set Profile: move the space to another profile.
- New Folder, Manage Spaces… and Delete Space.
Deleting a space asks first, and any page can refuse to close. Your last space can't be deleted.
Order and profiles
Manage Spaces… (the Library's Spaces section) reorders them by dragging. Every space belongs to one profile. Moving a space to another profile reopens its tabs there with that profile's cookies; its Favorites stay with the old profile.
